Our Service

Fairshare Mediation specialises in Property Settlement agreements post separation.
Mediation for parenting matters can also be arranged upon request.

Step 1 :

Our principal practitioner will undertake an individual meeting with the first party seeking a mediation service. This can be done in the person’s home providing it is safe to do so and no children are present. Alternatively, the meeting can be held via videolink (Zoom) or by attending in person.

Step 2 :

An invitation along with information regarding the service will be sent by Fairshare Mediation to the other party involved. They will be given 10 working days to respond, following which they will have their own individual meeting.

Step 3 :

After the second individual meeting, and if mediation is deemed suitable to proceed (I.E. there are no significant mental health, domestic violence, child safety issues, there is no identified fraud, duress, or an unwillingness for full and frank disclosure), a mediation appointment will be scheduled and conducted.

NB :

Mediations sessions are mostly held with both parties communicating directly, under the guidance of the mediator, in the same room. When either party is not able or unwilling to sit in the same room, a shuttle method can be arranged. This method usually takes a little longer than a joint sitting as the mediator is required to act as a communication shuttle between the parties in different rooms.

Step 4 :

The mediator documents the agreements and resolutions made by the parties. This Heads of Agreement draft will be emailed to them to check for accuracy prior to finalisation. The Heads of Agreement is not legally binding and the mediator will provide information on the options for securing their agreements legally and most cost effectively.
